The Seven Noahide Laws

The Seven Noahide Laws are universal moral rules given by G-d to all people through Noah. They include basic values like respect for life, justice, and belief in one G-d.

The Seven Laws

The Seven Noahide Laws are universal moral principles given by G-d to all people through Noah. They include core values such as justice, respect for life, and belief in one G-d. These laws serve as a foundation for ethical living and global peace, and they play a key role in preparing the world for the coming of Moshiach.

Belief in G-d

Every person is commanded to believe in the one G-d who created heaven and earth. This includes recognizing G-d as the only true power and rejecting all forms of idolatry. Belief in G-d is the foundation of the entire Noahide Code and the starting point for a moral and meaningful life.

Do Not Curse G-d

It is forbidden to curse or speak disrespectfully about G-d. This includes any expression that dishonors His Name. Even in difficult times, one must speak of G-d with reverence. This law protects the sanctity of our relationship with the Creator and reminds us to honor Him in word and thought.

Do Not Murder

Taking the life of an innocent person is absolutely forbidden. Human life is sacred because every person is created in the image of G-d. This law not only prohibits murder, but also teaches us to value life, pursue peace, and avoid harm to others in all forms.

Do Not Steal

Noahides are commanded not to steal, cheat, or take anything without permission. This law applies to both individuals and societies. It forms the basis of trust and fairness in human interaction and helps ensure that everyone’s rights and property are respected.

Do Not Enter Forbidden Relationships

This law sets clear boundaries for personal relationships, based on the Torah’s definition of what is permitted. It prohibits unions such as those between close relatives or between those who are already married. By following these guidelines, we help protect the dignity of family life and promote a morally healthy society.

Do Not Eat the Limb of a Living Animal

It is forbidden to eat meat taken from an animal while it is still alive. This law teaches basic compassion and respect for animals. Although people are permitted to eat meat, they must never cause unnecessary cruelty to living creatures.

Establish Courts of Law

Human society must create systems of justice. This includes setting up courts and appointing judges to apply these laws fairly and consistently. Through law and order, this command ensures peace, responsibility, and moral behavior across communities and nations.
