Nightly Dancing Brings Festive Spirit to Brooklyn Synagogue After Shushan Purim

BROOKLYN, NY — Nightly dances organized by the Shirah V’Zimrah Committee continued to draw crowds at the famed 770 synagogue in Crown Heights on Saturday night, marking the end of Shushan Purim. These celebrations have become a vibrant tradition in the Jewish month of Adar, bringing together community members of all ages in joyful observance.

The atmosphere inside 770 was charged with excitement as traditional melodies played loudly through speakers, encouraging enthusiastic dancing and singing among attendees. Men and children joined hands, forming circles that filled the main hall of the synagogue with spirited unity and joy. For many hours, participants sang the song “Yechi,” which expresses the community’s fervent hope and belief in the imminent revelation of the Rebbe as Moshiach.

“The energy here is incredible,” said one attendee. “These nightly dances have become a meaningful way for our community to celebrate our faith and our hope for the future.”

Participants spoke passionately about their anticipation for the Messianic era, reflecting a deeply rooted spiritual aspiration within the Chassidic community. Organizers emphasized that the dances symbolize communal joy and a shared vision of redemption.

The nightly celebrations at 770 will continue throughout Adar, underscoring the community’s enduring optimism and vibrant traditions.
